Miyamoto confirms Pikmin 3

In a press roundtable held behind closed doors at E3, Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed that a new Pikmin title is in development.  Unfortunately though, the confirmation only came when he made a passing mention that “We’re making Pikmin”.  He gave no other details, images, or even what platform it is being made for, but I think it’s safe to assume that it will be on Wii, as Wii Remote control would be perfect.

Stay tuned to MyWiiNews for new info as it appears, and visit our forums to discuss what you would like to see in Pikmin 3.

Miyamoto Talks Wii Storage: Almost Confirms Kid Icarus.

“There isn’t anything that we can announce today, but we have been thinking along a variety of different lines regarding this matter for some time now,” Shigeru Miyamoto told IGN. “So my hope is that sometime in the not too distant future we will be able to discuss some concrete solutions.”

Come on you guys, with all the new WiiWare and Virtual Console titles coming out, you can’t at least give the option to use a flash drive, or something like that?

And regarding Kid Icarus:

“Yeah, I’m not the producer of any Kid Icarus titles,” he said coyly. “There are some people who have some different ideas, but since I’m not the producer I can’t comment on anything.”

Then again:

“I’m not the producer of any Kid Icarus game, so I really can’t say anything. Sorry.”

Well, the least we can do is hope….a lot! I think that a Kid Icarus title would be a perfect match for the Wii, and I don’t have to hear all of the die-hard fans complaining every 2 seconds.

Yahoo’s E3 Review: Console wars heat up for 2008: Sony impresses, Microsoft surprises, Nintendo disappoints

They give it to Nintendo pretty good…

In contrast, it was hard to dodge the grumbling on the way out of the Nintendo event. Where were the classic franchises we all know and love? Where, for that matter, was Mario? Nintendo fans had to make do with a new Animal Crossing title, and an oh-so-vague mention of a Grand Theft Auto game on the DS handheld. Accessories like the MotionPlus controller plug-in and the WiiSpeak microphone are all very well, but don’t we have enough bits of plastic cluttering up our houses already?

Well, I’d personally have to say that I don’t think that it was the best E3 ever for Nintendo, and I do think that they could have done better with a few more announcements, but hey, at least we got the MotionPlus controller, and some Animal Crossing to tide us over.

Capcom raise the dead on Wii

authorChris | July 16, 2008

Japanese magazine Famitsu have revealed that Capcom are bringing Xbox 360 zombie game Dead Rising to Wii.  The game is set in a shopping mall (all similarities to Dawn of the Dead are denied by an in-game disclaimer) where you play as a survivor battling hordes of zombies, using anything you can find lying around as a weapon.  The Wii version appears to be a direct port of the existing 360  title, so we can expect a similar experience, albeit with Wii Remote swinging to hit zombies with baseball bats or throw plates at them.

There are no details available other than scans form Famitsu posted on the Wii @ Everyday blog.

The Conduit- New E3 Developer Walkthrough Video

With the Nintendo Press Conference over and the majority of news being out, it’s safe to say that the conference was a bit of a let down. In some of our past predictions, we thought Nintendo would let us in on some ground breaking news. Such as a storage solution or a new Zelda game… we were wrong (for now, just you wait). But on the bright side, we have gotten some new footage of the intense sci-fi FPS known as The Conduit… Hit the jump for the video.
