Capcom raise the dead on Wii

Japanese magazine Famitsu have revealed that Capcom are bringing Xbox 360 zombie game Dead Rising to Wii.  The game is set in a shopping mall (all similarities to Dawn of the Dead are denied by an in-game disclaimer) where you play as a survivor battling hordes of zombies, using anything you can find lying around as a weapon.  The Wii version appears to be a direct port of the existing 360  title, so we can expect a similar experience, albeit with Wii Remote swinging to hit zombies with baseball bats or throw plates at them.

There are no details available other than scans form Famitsu posted on the Wii @ Everyday blog.

    /sigh

Yet another console port of a very dated title.

Yes and no. Sure, it’s a port. That doesn’t guarantee it will be bad (by technicality, couldn’t you call Twilight Princess and RE4 both ports? Those were both awesome).

And considering Capcom ported RE4 to Wii and did a great job, this port would be pretty fun to play. Dead Rising has been on my must play-list for some time now.

But I also must say that I’m disappointed that Capcom isn’t taking any risks here.

Chris is Chris’s love of gaming began when his Dad pulled an old fake pong machine out of the garage. A borrowed SNES and a GameBoy for Christmas introduced him to Nintendo and he’s never looked back. Nowadays he finds time for a 360 as well as his Wii and DS, but his favourite games are still all from the big N.
