Guitar Hero Aerosmith: Wii Edition

I finally got Guitar Hero: Aerosmith for my Wii. I’ve played Guitar Hero 3 to death, and I love it. For those of you that are still connected to a wire, let me fill you in on a little secret…wireless guitar totally rocks! If you haven’t played this game, then you’re missing out on a lot of fun.

The wireless guitar is great. Its very responsive to every strum and finger press. Its size is just right with the right weight. The only complain I have is that the Strum Bar is a little noisy when you strum it during gameplay, and the fret buttons have a bit too much “click” to them, although they do seem to be spaced apart just perfectly. It would be better if they had some kind of rubber mechanism to soften the impacts. The Whammy Bar is perfect - no complaints here. Not sure about the wired guitar, but the wireless one comes with Tilt Sensor. You tilt your guitar upwards to activate Star Power and Battle Attacks.

The game comes with a Guitar Hero Aerosmith Tour Book. Nothing great, just some stuff on the band. According to the box, it says the game includes over 40 tracks but last night, I only saw a handful of tracks on the game menu. More and more tracks will be unlocked as you go further into the game. I remember I read somewhere that there will be no additional tracks for this game, at least not for the Wii edition of this game.

One of Guitar Hero: Aerosmith’s greatest flaws is that it comes across as bare bones. When you consider Rock Band’s addictively fun multi-player and Guitar Hero World Tour’s promise of song creation and a kick-ass drum set, you can’t help but look at GH:Aerosmith with a sense of disappointment, since it doesn’t expand on the established formula and recycles a ton of content (characters, outfits, artwork, unlockable guitars, online battles) from GHIII.

Decent review, but there are some factual errors here regarding the guitars. None of the Wii Guitar Hero guitars are wired. They’re all wireless. Also, they don’t come with a tilt sensor — it uses the Wii remote to determine when the guitar is being tilted or not.

Rented it. Meh - not a big Aerosmith fan - some of the early stuff. It was alright. Thanks TOPolk for the corrections above - you must be a real kick at parties!

How do I get multiplayer to work with one guitar and one Wii remote? We just got it today and cannot figure it out yet.

    Thanks!
