SuperVillian is Working on Two Wii Games

authorBucky | February 4, 2008

svs_logo_sm.jpgJust a quick blurb about a pretty exciting rumor. Kotaku is reporting that SuperVillian Studios is set to bring out two, count em’ two, yet-to-be announced Wii games. Why is this good news? Well, SuperVillian worked on the heavily underated GUN and Dungeon Siege: Throne of Agony, which is one of the PSP’s better games. The company has reportedly been bulking up on it’s Wii staff, which is a good sign that they’re taking the system seriously. No word yet on what the games will be or if they’re even original IP’s (most of SuperVillian’s work has been handling ports from Activision), but let’s hope they are, as I think SuperVillian can cook up some great original gaming. Keep your eyes to MyWiiNews and we’ll keep you up to date on what the games are going to be.

Nintendo Announces Games for the First Half of 2008

authorBucky | January 17, 2008

Nintendo released yesterday the sizeable lineup of games that will be released in the first half of 2008 and it’s giving Wii owners a hella lot to look forward to. Games such as Super Smash Bro. Brawl and Mario Kart are obvious givens and their aren’t to many major surprises but seeing Alone in the Dark in March on their gets me a bit excited and later on in “Summer” we’ll finely be getting some Wii light saber action when Star Wars: The Forced Unleashed hits shelves. Of course with the good comes the bad and it looks like there are plenty of quick and dirty mini-game cash-ins flooding the Wii game market too. I’m just guessing, but you’ll probably want to stay away from any game where the letter ‘S’ has been replaced with a ‘Z’ such as Kidz Sports Soccer, coming out in Feb. Of course the biggest release for these two quarters is going to be Wii Fit simply because it is so different. Here is the entire list of Wii releases so you can plan your shopping now.

Build a House on Your Wii

authorBucky | January 8, 2008

In what can only be perceived as an effort to capture the Home and Garden Channel audience Majesco’s upcoming Wii exclusive title Our House will allow players to build their very own house. From nailing 2×4s together to laying down the carpet you’ll be able to finally create that virtual homestead you’ve always dreamed about but never had the proper Wii tools to build. I’d call foul on this game instantly for making you do a lot of work without anything to show off but, in what is becoming a more regular feature as it should have been from launch, Our House will will be online with a “Neighborhood Mode” that will allow gamers to show off their virtual abodes. Add to this an online “build-off” mode, which I can only imagine will be like Iron Chef but on a house sized scale, and you’ve got what sounds like a game that could really take off in a weird internet corner of the world.

Our House Wii

Don’t hold your breathe though, the game isn’t launching until holiday of 2008 so we all have some time before we can see who is truly the greatest carpenter of all time, you know, aside from that Christ guy.
